What is the difference in using a memory card reader to pull up files vs. using a digital camera with a USB?
I accidentally deleted my files on my SanDisk memory card. I was told I could get them back with the purchase of a photo recovery software. I was also instructed to use a memory card reader in order to retreive them. Why can’t I retreive them from my camera via USB?
I’m confused and frustrated!
Here are the reasons for using a card reader.
1) if your battery fails during transfer, image files can become corrupted.
2) If you have to use an image recovery program, it can take hours to recover images on large cards and again you run the risk of the batteries failing if you use your camera.
3) You can use your camera while your card reader is transferring the images to your computer (if you have a second card, which you should).
